Immerse yourself in the culture through the different activities organised.
Through a variety of carefully organised activities, students are given the opportunity to experience Japanese culture as it is lived in everyday life.
Our programs are rooted in the local community of rural Akita, where traditions are not preserved for display, but continue as part of daily routines. Depending on the season, students may take part in local festivals, try traditional crafts, join community events, or share meals with local residents. These are not staged experiences, but genuine moments that reflect how people live, interact, and connect.
What makes these activities truly meaningful is the opportunity to engage with people. Whether it’s a casual conversation with a neighbor, participating in a small local gathering, or learning directly from community members, students naturally develop both cultural understanding and communication skills at the same time.
Rather than learning about culture from a distance, you become part of it. Each interaction, each activity, and each shared moment helps build a deeper connection to Japan—one that cannot be replicated in a traditional classroom setting.
By stepping into real-life situations and embracing these experiences, students gain not only language skills, but also a richer, more personal understanding of Japanese culture.
