We are a Japanese language school that is providing unique activities. Through using in practical situations, you can learn Japanese effectively and meaningfully.

Our Story

Akita Inaka School was founded in 2019.

Most language schools teach Japanese through textbooks and grammar drills. We wanted something different — a place where students could step into real Japanese life, speak with real people, and experience the culture that gives the language its meaning.

We chose rural Akita for a reason. Away from the tourist trails and busy cities, this is where everyday Japanese life actually happens. Local festivals, rice fields, quiet mountain paths, neighborhood gatherings — this is the Japan that most visitors never see. And it's exactly the environment where real language learning takes place.

Since 2019, students from around the world have come to Akita Inaka School not just to study Japanese, but to become part of a community.
